Demurrage

Free time will commence on the first calendar day following the equipment's arrival at loading port, bill of lading point or Carrier's alternate port facility.

Charges per calendar day after freetime
Dry equipment, including shipper owned equipment and non-operating refrigerated containers Days 1-4 USD 150.00 per day, or fraction
Day 5 and above USD 180.00 per day, or fraction thereof
Operating refrigerated containers Days 1-3 USD 350.00 per day, or fraction thereof
Day 4 and above USD 480.00 per day, or fraction thereof
Flat beds, flat racks, open top containers or any other specialized equipment Days 1-3 USD 350.00 per day, or fraction thereof
Day 4 and above USD 480.00 per day, or fraction thereof

 

Detention

  • Free time for carrier’s equipment commences on the day equipment departs from carrier’s container yard.

Dry Four (4) business days
Commencing and including day of pickup
Reefer, Non-Operating Reefer and Special Equipment Three (3) business days
Commencing and including day of pickup

Days 5-8 180 USD per day
Days 9+ 200USD per day
Operating reefer and special equipment Days 1-3 310 USD per day

Exception to Above:

The following exceptions apply to reefer cargo only through December 31, 2019.

  • Equipment Detention: Montreal & Toronto - 5 working days free time once removed from Carrier’s CY facility
  • Equipment Detention: Vancouver - 8 working days free time once removed from Carrier’s CY facility
  • Equipment Detention: Halifax &St. John’s - 10 working days free time once removed from Carrier’s CY facility
