Safmarine serves the main Gabonese ports of Libreville (Owendo). Direct weekly services connect Libreville to Europe via the port of Algeciras, while Southern Africa is served direct on the fortnightly SAF/WAF service and South America also fortnightly direct on the SAWA service.. All these vessels are controlled by the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group.

Maersk Line has been active in Gabon since our first vessel call at Libreville in 1997 with our interests represented by GETMA Gabon now Necotrans Gabon. Maersk Gabon S.A. was incorporated in October 2003 and offers a full container import and export service, local handling and delivery via our sub-contractor, Necotrans Gabon and part load import service from Antwerp through our Maersk Logistics operation.

Maersk Gabon S.A. has one expatriate and twenty five Gabonese staff with wide and varied experience. Our strong links with Necotrans Gabon Gabon ensure that we have an active presence locally in Gabon with trucks and handling equipment available on demand. We keep a stock of empty equipment in Gabon to ensure we can provide containers as our customers require them.

In short, Safmarine Gabon is a new and forward looking organisation, with a strong local infrastructure and the full resources of the Safmarine global network behind us to allow us to provide a second to none service in Gabon.
